Ashok Chawla, the Economic Affairs Secretary, today told reporters that the government has no plans for direct support or bailout for the company. Ram Mynampati, a Senior Satyam Executive has approached the government asking for an aid of Rs 150 crore for taking care of the health insurance liabilities of its US staff, he added.
The request was made through a mail from Ram Mynampati. He also mentioned that Satyam has the freedom of appointing 10 board members, but no decision has been taken in this direction and the present strength of the board stood at 3 only.
