After the exposure of manipulations at Satyam, the other Indian IT companies which have foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sitting on substantial amount of shareholdings, will start revising their decision for sure. Among the well-known names, Wipro has 7% of such investment; for Infosys the value stands at 41%; HCL harbors 18%.
For the black sheep called Satyam, the magnitude was 47%. The question doing rounds these days is whether the investors will try to get out of the Indian IT scenario completely. Though a general industry opinion settles against this speculation, but a cautious behavior is definitely to be seen. Consequently, those that decide to go for investing will scrutinize to a greater degree before concluding something.
However, the actual developments will be clear only when the time arrives. Another belief being majorly accepted is that the reaction of concerned investors will depend on the steps taken by the regulating authorities, SEC in US and SEBI in India.
