The demands of oil PSUs officers to give a green signal to an immediate rise in their wages has left the filling stations going dry. The talks recently held between the government and strikers to arrive at a consensus ended up without any agreement.
The information regarding the meeting that took place between Petroleum Minister Murli Deora and the protesting officers came from Indian Oil Corporation Chairman Sarthak Behuria. Amit Kumar, President of Oil sector officer Association said that the minister has assured them of conveying the issues to Prime Minister.
Owing to such disturbances, large number of petrol pumps in the metros went without fuel with LPG supply assigned a minimum wait period of one week. The fear that the crisis might turn big if no solution is devised for the situation prompted government to ask management of companies to sack the ones leading the strike.
