Market Indices Ended the Day on Positive Side

Realty, banking, capital goods and some of the oil and power stocks, today helped both the benchmark Indices to close the day on the stronger side. The positive hopes from the Government second stimulus package to be announced today also helped in keeping the market warm.


Both the market indices went up in the afternoon session, Nifty reached a high of 3079.85 and Sensex on the other hand regains its 10,000 mark and touched an intraday high of 10,070.28 points. The BSE Sensex closed the day on 9,958.22 points by surging 0.55 percent on Friday. Nifty also ended at 3046.75, 13.30 points higher than its previous day close.


BSE Midcap Index jumped 72.08 points or 2.17 percent to reach 3,391.18 whereas the Small Cap Index jumped 1.58 percent and settled at 3,870.45 points. BSE Realty Index also gained 50.08 points and ended the day with 2,472.51 points. Unitech and DLF were among the top realty gainers today by surging 4.27 percent and 3.03 percent respectively.
