Struggling times of Tata Motors have not finished yet, after facing serious protests in Singur (West Bengal), this time it is the farmers of Sanand (Gujarat) who have filed the petition in the High Court against the Modi Government that their land has been acquired forcibly. Tata Motors took a respectful exit from Singur and relocated the Tata Nano’s project in Sanand a few months ago.
The farmers also alleged that the compensation provided by the Gujarat Government is not adequate. According to the sources, the 1080 acres of land allocated to Tata Motors for the People’s Car Project belongs to the farmers.
The farmers are claiming that their land is being sold off to Tata’s at very high prices but an equivalent compensation is not provided to them. The Government is depriving off the farmers from the money that only belongs to them, so they are demanding their land back. A hearing on the issue has been scheduled on December 10.
