With regard to the previous announcement made by Jet Airways two days earlier regarding the lay-off of around 1900 Staff, Naresh Goyal, The Chairman of Jet Airways, yesterday evening turned up with a decision to call back all the sacked employees. Jet Airways Chairperson also asked for the apologies of its employees regarding the management decision and requested them to rejoin the organization as per the earlier schedules from Today.

Referring to the management decision to lay off 1900 Jet Airways staff, Goyal said, “The management might not like my decision but sometimes there are disagreements within the family and as the head of the family, I am taking this decision."

The management of the company had worked out some arithmetic equation before taking this decision as a cost cutting measure due to current financial crisis that is worsening the outlook of the Indian aviation industry. Goyal also added that he was not also aware about the number of employees sacked by the management as he was not totally involved in the decision. The employees of Jet Airways are like his own children and his conscience has not allowed him to look at the economic equation alone. He totally denied about any political pressure behind his decision to call back the employees and said the decision was totally personal.
